Geographical focus
The Huisman Foundation focuses its activities on Africa, in particular on Africa south of the Sahara. External support is needed to climb upon the development ladder and to take the first steps. Once a country has taken the first step, it can climb up by itself. In Asia, most countries have begun to climb the ladder. Many African countries, especially the southern countries, are still at the bottom of the development ladder. Or even worse: they haven`t even entered the development ladder. The Huisman Foundation has chosen Southern Africa as a focus, to get as many people from these countries as possible on the development ladder.
