The purchase of their own school by Little Rock, located in the slums of Kibera, Nairobi, Kenya.

Little Rock is an Early Childhood Development Center and focuses on education for children from 2 to 6 years old from the slums of Kibera, Nairobi (Kenya). Little Rock offers daily food, medicines, vaccinations and supports the children after leaving Little Rock by ensuring that they have the necessary materials to be allowed to go to the elementary school. Little Rock currently has about 440 students.

Little Rock focuses mainly on vulnerable children and aims at giving everybody equal opportunities. Among the 440 pupils are 55 with 'special needs'. These children are integrated with normal children, as far as possible. There is a separate class for education of deaf children.

Little Rock ( is entirely dependent on private donations. Little Rock wants to ensure a sustainable situation through buying its own school. The fixed monthly expenses will be reduced substantially and a more stable flow of  sponsors will be available, since many donors have a condition that the school is owned. The constant threat that they could be deported from their school any time will disappear. The Huisman Foundation contributed for 1000,- Euro.
